Any Size Hook & Yarn
Using the Magic Circle Technique
[Chain 4, Slip Stitch into 1st Chain from hook, Slip Stitch again into next stitch, Single Crochet into last
Stitch, Slip Stitch into Magic Circle] then repeat [ ] 4 more times ending with a Slip Stitch into the Magic Circle, Bind Off and Pull Circle closed. You have one Tiny Star Fish
Larger Star Fish Increase Chain Stitch by 2s, slip stitch into the first 3 chain stitches and single crochet into the remaining , slip stitch into circle x 4 more times
Depending on how much larger You go, You could increase the size of the last few stitches to half double crochet. Example: into the chain stitches created, Slip Stitch at least the first 3 chain stitches, Single Crochet, Half Double Crochet, Slip Stitch into the middle
Ideas for Your tiny Star Fish
- Stiffen the back with Modge Podge and secure to a bobby pin with a felt circle and hot glue for a cute hair accessory
- Hot glue on to a muslin bag to create a "Mermaid Treasure Purse" or party favor bag
- Stiffen with Modge Podge and make a garland
- Hot Glue onto Gift Tags
Or just make tiny star fish because they are fun and cute

If You like making flowers and Appliqués You will love this method, otherwise You could try chaining 2 and work all the stitches into 2nd chain from hook then weave thru the stitches with the loose end to close up hole.
