These are really cute. I lost all my ornaments last year during a move so I'm having to build up my supply again. Gonna be making some of these.
I love those little snowflakes! This would be a great pattern for a garland for my tree or mantel! Thanks for sharing!!
Adorable! These would make great seasonal earrings. :D

I just wish I could read a pattern! I'm really a visual reader! Oh well. : (
Reading a pattern is easy. You just have to know what the abbreviations stand for. Hdc = half double crochet. Sl st = slip stitch. Ch = chain so ch1 would mean chain 1. Does this help at all?
How do you mod podge them? Curious about whether to dip them or brush it on? Thanks for the pattern! We got a smaller tree after moving to a much smaller house so I can't use all my ornaments I've accumulated over the years!
Ashley, I brush mine on and I water down the modge podge just a little and I use matte but just recently tried sparkle modge podge on some white snowflakes and I love how they look : )
full disclosure, I am not a professional pattern writer, apologies to anyone that cannot follow my pattern :)
love these! I just learned to crochet so this is literally my first project but it's super easy and I just made a bunch for the christmas tree! Thanks for posting.
Using this as a bow on my daughter's beanie I just crocheted! :) just something different from the Christmas usages.
Round 1:
Ch 4 (this counts as as hdc, ch 2) Hdc, Ch2 (5 times) into the circle or magic circle
This should read
ch 4 (counts as hdc, ch 2), hdc, ch 2 (4 times), ch 2, sl st to ch 2 of ch 4
There is no closure to the round. :) It's okay! Everyone has to start somewhere.
Anyone have a video?
These are perfect. I want to make kitchen curtain with snowflakes for winter. Thank you for the pattern!
I'm putting together a roundup of crochet snowflake patterns to share on my blog and would love to include this one. Your work is beautiful! I typically include a photo from the original post along with a link back to the post, but I do not publish the pattern or any of your original content on my site.
You can see an example of a roundup here: http://www.leavesandstitches.com/weekend-pinspiration-thanksgiving-desserts/
Would it be okay to include your pattern in the roundup?
Thank you so much!

I really like these snowflakes I am going to try to make them and give them away as Christmas ornaments thanks for the pattern
I love how easy this pattern was to follow! Thank you!! MIne turned out really cute!
Thanks for the free pattern, I featured and linked it on my blog as part of a gift that I made! I will be making many more as I have an idea floating around in my head!
I have seen you can use sugar water to stiffen them up. What amounts, and how long do you keep them in it?
May I link this tutorial on my YouTube video?
Hi Love the snowflake pattern- is it American abbreviations or English. Can't wait to make it

Is there a reason you use Modge Podge instead of just starching them?
Love your pattern! Could I share the translation to spanish in my blog ? Of course with a link to your blog and name you Thanks for your answer www.cosicasraquel.es :)
I don't really understand reading patterns, but based of the image would it be fair to say that one can basically modify a granny square pattern to get this result?

Here in the Southern USA (and I imagine in other places too) starch, and sugar-water both are highly attractive for insects and vermin that we constantly fight year-round. They also can yellow pretty quickly if kept in the sun or stored somewhere too warm over the summer. Mod podge or thinned glue are probably the best and safest ways to get that crisp starched look if you live somewhere that using starch or sugar-water are not feasible.
me too
I'm a visual learner, so I understand what the pattern says, but I don't understand how to put it all together. "Ch 4 (this counts as a hdc, ch 2) Hdc" this for instance throws me off. I know its chain 4, but is it 4 SC or is it 4 hdc? Or does it say you'll get a HDC and a chain 2 after?

I really like how super simple this was. I'm thinking about maybe using string and a smaller hook to see how it comes out. Never worked with string before and I know it will come out much smaller but I also think it will add variety. Can also possibly go the other way largest yarn and hook. Ty for sharing your pattern.
